Pneumatic Conveying Systems are used for transferring bulk quantities of material from one place to another. These especially designed systems consist of ducts or pipes which are known as transportation lines that carry stream of air and mixture of material. Types Of Pneumatic Conveying Systems:

• Dilute-Phase Conveying System :- In this type of Pneumatic Conveying System, large amount of air at low pressure is used for conveying comparatively smaller amount of material. The material which is conveyed through a dilute-phase conveying system remains suspended in air and travels at high velocity through the transportation lines. This system efficiently transfers material at high speed through the conveying mechanism.

• Dense-Phase Conveying System :- Dense-phase conveying system is used for transferring material whose particles are larger and heavier. Large molecules cannot be conveyed by the high velocity air of a dilute-phase conveying system because heavier particles cannot remain suspended in the air flow. Therefore, for conveying such materials, dense-phase conveying systems are used. These systems convey the material by using a small amount of air that pushes the material through the pipeline at lower velocity.

• Air-Activated Gravity Conveying System :- This type of Pneumatic Conveying System is used for transferring objects such as plastic containers, boxes and cans. This conveying system employs positive pressure for conveying the objects through the transportation lines.
